Unlock the Ocean Expeditions invites you beyond diving.
They are your way of learning to read the ocean.
Komodo — Only 2 spots left
Maldives — Limited spaces open
Apply before December 31th — spots fill up in order of application.
After applying, you’ll be invited to a short call to align expectations and confirm if this is the right fit — before any payment.
Applications are reviewed in order — and once the boat fills, we close the list. We keep groups intimate on purpose.
We don’t travel to collect dives. We travel to listen, learn, and be changed by the ocean.
I’ve never seen diving as a hunt for more numbers or selfies. For me, it’s always been about curiosity—about letting each dive raise new questions and reveal new stories.
Every time I slow down, I notice how the ocean teaches in small ways: a sudden current, a silent standoff, a new shape on the reef. Underwater, every moment can become a lesson—if you’re really paying attention.
We don’t gather just to “check off dives”—we travel to listen, to pause, to learn, and to come back changed.
Komodo and Maldives are the next chapters of this way of diving. If you’re looking for more than numbers and photos, if you want to belong, to listen, and to let the ocean transform you—this is for you.

What Divers Take Home
It’s more than dives.
It’s new eyes, new questions, and stories they’ll never forget.
I’ll never look at sponges the same way again. Jose’s marine biology talks opened my eyes — and made me a better, more aware diver.
Bruno Montonari, Brasil
Jose was the first person who truly helped me understand global currents, coral ecosystems, and the ‘why’ behind marine behavior.
Diving with him changed how I connect with the sea
Lori Ann Krushefski, USA
I still remember the moment we lay on the ocean floor, watching a pregnant manta glide above us.
Jose doesn’t just show you the ocean — he helps you feel it.
Pat Bowman, USA
Led by a scientist, diver, and storyteller
Marine biologist Jose Castellano has spent decades exploring the underwater world—not just for its beauty, but for its hidden stories and relationships.
His journey blends science, fieldwork, and a passionate curiosity for the language of the ocean.
In these expeditions, Jose invites you to experience diving in a new way: slow, connected, and meaningful.
Every dive becomes not just a memory, but a true lesson in presence and discovery.
“The ocean taught me to slow down—and that’s when real learning began.”
If you’ve ever felt the sea had something more to tell you, you’re in the right place. I’d love to share the dive with you.

Frequently Asked
Is this for all experience levels?
Yes, we build small groups and adapt the rhythm. What matters most is attitude, not how many dives you've logged. What’s included?
All diving, accommodation, boat, daily learning sessions. Flights are not included. Will I have support before and during the journey?
From your first message, we help you prepare every detail, expectations, and travel steps."I’m worried I’ll feel left out or “less experienced.” What happens if I’m not an expert?"
No worries—curiosity, kindness, and a desire to learn are what matter most here. Our groups are small and we support every diver, whether you have 10 or 1,000 dives. If you show up with respect for the ocean and for your fellow explorers, you’ll always belong.
If you ever wondered if the ocean wanted to tell you a story, these journeys are your invitation. I’ll be with you at every step—listening, learning, and making sure you feel at home. — Jose
